Tensile test apparatus for Hilti on-site concrete anchor testing service

Anchor site testing

Let Hilti determine missing resistance values or check if anchors have been installed correctly

Is the combination of anchor and base material missing from the technical documentation you're using? Looking to validate and document the installed quality of fasteners? Hilti's anchor site testing service is the solution.

As a Structural Engineer, you may not have enough data available to determine the resistance of a post-installed anchor for a safer, efficient and cost-effective design. Approval documents or technical manuals may not cover the base material. You're most likely to encounter this when working on reinforcement or restoration projects with older, possibly damaged, concrete or masonry, but also with natural stone or porous materials, etc.

As a Project Manager, you may need to proof test post-installed anchors or post-installed rebar in order to document the installed quality for the Quality Manager, Project Owner or an external inspector.

For both cases, Hilti offers on-site tensile testing services.

Our engineers work with you on the jobsite, and then provide a PDF test report with load and displacement values. On request, an additional evaluation report can be provided with calculated resistance or with a quality assessment, both according to official guidelines.

However, site-testing one or more products, independent of the reason, can never:

  • Serve as a substitution for an approval document
  • Serve to overrule an existing approval document
  • Serve to conclude which is a “better” product by comparison
  • Serve as a substitution for proper anchor design

Determination of resistance

If you're an Engineer who needs to specify anchors, this service can help you to easily design the right fastener in non-standard cases. You get the peace of mind that the masonry or concrete anchor you specify can perform as you need it to.

Useful when:

  • You need to determine an anchor's resistance in a specific unknown or uncertain base material

Why choose Hilti anchor site testing?

Accurate and comprehensive test results including displacement measurement via digital data transfer
Anchor Site Testing may help to avoid the slow and error-prone step of manually noting test results. Hilti's latest generation of anchor testing equipment transfers readings, including load versus displacement graphs, directly to the analysis software – cutting out scope for human error.

Competent and consistent service execution through Hilti-certified service providers
Hilti has developed a rigorous, methodical approach to anchor testing, carried out by a highly trained team of Engineers. This combination helps to avoid common testing pitfalls.

All applications up to 370 kN covered through Hilti test equipment
Just as Hilti has fasteners for every imaginable application, you can also rely on us for anchor testing in everyday construction as well as highly specialized engineering works.

Model code coverage for test result evaluation
No matter where your project is located, our technical scope helps to cover local codes and building regulations. Contact your Field Engineer or Account Manager to find out more.

The bottom line: you get the foundation for efficient design and validated, documented installed quality.
